Hello!

Thanks for actually going to the link on the motivation letter. In case there is an English-speaking representative, this page contains the motivation letter in English!

Dear GA,

I love the Student Council. Not only have I met fantastic people, both within the Council and the interesting individuals I’ve encountered during my meetings, but the sense of fulfillment I got from the work I did was also incredible. For this reason, I would still like to remain a representative next year.

This may raise the question of why I am running for a different mandate than ICTS. Although I have genuinely enjoyed the mandate, I would certainly like to do more than just discuss contracts or organizational improvements. Especially given that the time commitment required by the ICTS and certainly the OWR mandate is not insignificant, some variety wouldn’t hurt.

In addition, I am personally very interested in educational policy. And there are still plenty of interesting dossiers on the agenda for next year, such as: class recordings, gauging exams (ijkingstoetsen), and master’s theses. There is still plenty of work to be done that I would like to tackle.

During my term as ICTS mandatary, I learned a great deal about how Stura operates and how to navigate an organization. The importance of an agenda, good time management, meaningful teamwork, and recognizing when things get overwhelming and asking for help have not gone past me. I believe this has given me the necessary experience for this position.

I hope this has convinced you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask during the election.

With kind regards,

Harman Singh
